Lily is one of the two main characters in The Secret Cave of Glimmerwood<\/em> \u2014 and once you’ve met her, she’s not easy to forget.

She’s a girl of around ten to twelve years old, who spends every summer’s two best weeks with her cousin Max at their grandmother Rose’s house, right at the edge of the mysterious Glimmerwood Forest. While Max buries his nose in comic books and daydreams about dragons, Lily pays attention to the world around her. She’s the first one awake in the morning, the one who collects interesting stones along the way, and the one who notices the things others miss \u2014 the quiet hesitation on her grandmother’s face, the symbols carved into an old stone, the smell of something unexplainable drifting through the trees.

Lily is thoughtful where Max is impulsive. Careful, without ever being timid. She’s the one who pauses and asks why<\/em> \u2014 and because of that, she’s often the first to find the right answers. Her mind works quietly and thoroughly, and she trusts her instincts, even when she can’t quite explain them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
