Max

Max is Lily’s cousin — and her best friend, even if he’d probably never say that out loud.
Every year he spends two weeks at Grandma Rose’s house on the edge of Glimmerwood Forest, and no summer ever feels quite right to him unless he and Lily are out there together, wandering through the trees, inspecting beetles, or searching the creek for interesting stones. Max is the kind of kid who sets off with a stick in his hand and swings it like a sword — not because he thinks he’s in danger, but because life is simply more exciting when you act like he might be.
He is impulsive, enthusiastic, and naturally brave. Where Lily pauses and thinks, Max takes the first step. He’s the one who says „just a quick look — we won’t go far“ — and who’s usually right that it’s worth it. His courage occasionally borders on recklessness, but behind his bold exterior is a heart that genuinely burns: for adventure, for doing what’s right, and for the people who matter to him.

Max always carries a flashlight — a habit Grandma Rose drilled into him years ago — and he’s quietly proud of being prepared. Even if the sight of a glowing fox rising up out of a underground pool leaves him, just for a moment, completely speechless.
His Guide Stone glows in a soft pale blue. Blue like curiosity, like open skies, like the horizon above a forest you don’t know yet — but absolutely have to explore.
What Max and his cousin Lily discover deep in the heart of Glimmerwood, and what this boy with the flashlight and the unshakeable courage truly turns out to be capable of — that’s for you to find out in The Secret Cave of Glimmerwood.
